Atlantic Immigration Program

Immigrate to Canada through Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)

The Atlantic Immigration Program is an initiative undertaken by the Canadian Government for assisting firms to recruit foreign workers and international graduates to fill up shortages in the labor force. If you are a skilled foreign worker seeking to settle in Canada and obtain permanent residency, you can apply and succeed through this program. The Atlantic Provinces included in this immigration program are New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island.

Qualifications to Apply Under the AIP

To apply under this immigration program and obtain PR, the applicants need to have a job offer in any of the desired territories. Here, to qualify, the candidates do not need an LMIA, but they need to hold an employment offer from an authorized employer.

To be implemented, the Atlantic Immigration Program demands the involvement of two parties:

  • Foreign individuals who are interested to become a permanent resident of Atlantic Canada.
  • Employers who are authorized by the Canadian Government to appoint foreign individuals.

The AIP program again has different requirements form the employers and the employees.
